As its a horribly wet and depressing winter thus far, and the alpacas are looking......well....'soggy', we thought we would cheer ourselves up with some photos of the herd when they first came here. Just three adult females, and two little ones 'Star' (golden brown with a white star on his forehe...

What a wonderful day! There was 10 in our group. We had to round up the Alpacas before walking them and this really created a team spirit, in no time all of us strangers were chatting and laughing. The owners are so welcoming, friendly, informative and funny. Now for the most important part, the Alpacas are a joy! Loved the walk, I had Earnie, what a gorgeous friendly chap he was, my husband had Gino, a little Alpaca but full of chat, was a little sweetie. The one thing we didn't do was book the afternoon tea. I wished we had, so recommend you do, it will round off the perfect morning. Guarantee you will enjoy. Alpacas are beautiful animals and it was a privilege to be walking with them 🥰 Worth every penny!! Thank you for a wonderful day! 💛

Very friendly and informative hosts with interesting local knowledge. Beautiful countryside and the most endearing gentle Alpacas. This is a once in a lifetime experience and I heartily recommend it. We had tea and cakes afterwards on the terrace delicious, accompanied by Sophie and Guinness (Silky soft cocker spaniels)

About Dorset Alpaca walking

Celebrate a special birthday, anniversary or special occasion, with this unforgettable and 'different' experience.

The walk takes around one and a half to two hours, and consists of an initial rounding up of the herd and learning all about our alpacas. This is followed by harnessing the chosen alpacas, and then a gentle stroll through beautiful Dorset countryside, or the local hamlet. We are located on a private lane set in parkland laid out by 'Capability' Brown, which is an area designated as being of 'Outstanding Natural Beauty.' The session usually ends up with one to one feeding of the alpacas with their favourite treats!

Have a chance to really bond with these delightful gentle creatures,  in really beautiful surroundings, and take photos and videos so you will always remember this special day.

The cost is £25 per person walking one alpaca, or £15 per person (without an alpaca)  accompanying their party or group. We accept a minimum of two people per session.  Children must be 12 or over to walk an alpaca individually.

As a further option you can then relax with a tea/coffee or soft drinks,  delicious cakes and biscuits either on comfortable sofas in our stylish barn surrounded by classic cars, or outside overlooking the alpacas in their meadow. This cost for tea and cake is £6 per person.

Only one companion per person walking an alpaca, and please talk to us if you have small children.      Children must be 12 or over to walk an alpaca, and eight years or older to accompany.
